Platform Trailers
Rex J. Andrews uses three types of platform trailers. All
trailers use hydraulic suspension and hydro/mechanical steering. All axles have
parking and service brakes that meet the ARD 38b requirement. The trailers use
rows of 8 axles at a 1.8m axle spacing. The tyres are 215/75 R17.5 radial
tubeless with a J speed rating. The Platform Trailers were
designed and built
by Rex J. Andrews Pty Ltd.
The 935 series
- 1, 2 and 3 row modules
- 3.5 to 4.2 metre axle width.
- deck height 550 to 900mm. Tyre height 760mm
- The series can be joined up to a 10 line platform trailer for highway use or
higher for off highway use depending on the conditions.
- Max axle Loading 19T per row

The figure above shows the 935 series platform trailers setup
as a 10 Line module. The load on the platform trailer is the header, strongback
and Control Cabin for the Series 946 Beam set.
The 960 Series
- 4 and 6 row modules
- 4.2 to 4.8 metre axle width
- deck height 802 to 1540mm
- The series can be joined up to a 16 line platform trailer.
- Max axle loading 24T per row

The 999 Series
- 2,3 and 4 row modules
- 3.5 to 6.5 metre axle width
- deck height 830 to 1570mm
- The series can be joined up to a 16 line platform trailer.
- Max axle loading 24T per row
- Designed to carry tanks and other high
items in the drop down chassis section
